Days of Past Futures
As part of my artistic practice, I include DJing with motion-based graphics, and time lapse videos. Among my sonic obsessions is collecting vinyl records. An example of my DJ set would include spinning Golden Age Hip-Hop, mixing them with their original samples, House Music, Afrobeat, Funk, Disco, RnB, Soul, 80’s Pop, Punk, Yacht Rock, and more to imagine what the AfroFuture sounds like through my multicultural, multimedia, Sankofa, collage practice.
Darker Than Blue is a DJ collective from Champaign IL.. consisting of Chris (DJ CK) Kinson, Joe (E^), Blanks, Kamau (DJ Kamaumau) Grantham and Stacey (BLACKSTAR) Robinson. The Collective formed in October 2023 and originally included Soleil Roz who moved from the area in Dec. 2023. The Collective spins a wide range of music to create peaceful dance environments for all to enjoy. Come chill, build, and be prepared to dance with the crew. DTB
